Affiliate Policy

I have set up The Web Smith to help people to become confident bloggers, so they can build fantastic blogs that look great and that their target audience want to read.

There’s a steep learning curve with blogging, and a myriad of tools and resources are available to bloggers. It can be quite overwhleming.

I have decided not to have Google advertising on The Web Smith, as I always find them distracting and a bit creepy when I come across them.

Instead, I’d much prefer to share recommendations of products and services that I personally use and endorse as a blogger, or which other people have recommended to me. I’m very selective about who and what I choose to recommend on The Web Smith, and its sister website The Independent Landlord, and turn down a lot of approaches!

As well as being high quality products and services, they have to be the right fit in terms of approach and values before I’ll recommend them.

I don’t accept exclusivity, as independence is very important to me. I write all the content on both blogs myself, and maintain complete editorial freedom. This means I don’t accept sponsored posts. I’m also very open about affiliate links, even down to the coding I use. I don’t share my list of subscribers, so please don’t ask.

I’m also an official member of Ethical Influencers, an online community which connects bloggers, influencers, and creatives with brands who share the same ethical values.
